PETROF instruments are played by for example Ivo Kahánek, David Helfgott or Paul McCartney. On the occasion of the 155th-anniversary celebration of the company, a spectacular gathering is held, where business partners from 50 countries, music associations chiefs, musicians and journalists have been invited.

The ceremonial result announcement of the 15th “Building of the Year” competition took place on 27th November 2018 in the Research Library of Hradec Králové. This year, there were 13 buildings competing for the title with PETROF Gallery becoming the winner.

Before long it will be 155 years since the founding of the PETROF family firm. We owe it to the founder, Antonín Petrof, who first gained experience in Vienna and then returned to Hradec Králové, where in 1864 he built his first grand piano in his father’s former joinery in a house by the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit.

Anatoly Zatin and Vlada Vassilieva, known in the international scene as DUO PETROF, won the first prize at the 2018 edition of the most important international competition for professional piano duos. Over the past several days we have managed to strengthen both our friendship and business relations in China. During October we co-organised the multi-venue tour of the renowned Czech pianist Jitka Páleníčková Čechová. In just ten days she gave eleven concerts in Beijing, Dalian and other Chinese cities, where she superbly represented Czech culture through the "Bedřich Smetana’s Music Salon" programme.
